Getting Started With Astro With Ben Holmes

Building Content-driven Websites with Astro

We recently had an amazing live stream with Ben Holmes from Astro, during which we chatted about building content-driven websites with Astro JS. This is also an opportunity of getting started with Astro.

You can see the replay below.

However, I would like to share what we covered briefly in this blog post.

Astro JS Key Features

Ben has joined us virtually to discuss the awesome things happening at Astro, a framework designed specifically for building content-rich websites.

Whether you're creating marketing blogs, e-commerce sites, or personal portfolios, Astro provides the tools you need to make your site look fantastic and perform smoothly.

In the session, we cover what's new with Astro, including some forward-looking features still in preview, as well as, on getting started with Astro.

We'll also dive into content collections, a powerful feature that simplifies managing and organizing content on your site.

Additionally, Ben will give us a live demo, showcasing how easy it is to start a new project with Astro, use server-side scripting, and create component-based layouts.

We'll also discuss Astro's new experimental feature and actions, which allow for handling dynamic functionalities like forms and buttons on the server.

I also wrote a great post about Astro JS Actions here, which has a demo app and code example.

Ben also covered integrating Astro with Strapi, a popular headless CMS, showing how to fetch and render content seamlessly.

Lastly, we'll get a sneak peek at an exciting upcoming feature called loaders, which promises to make fetching and caching content from external sources even easier.

So go check out the entire stream to explore all the fantastic new and coming Astro features with us.

Are you new to Astro and looking for a crash course? We got you.
